MOPS Mom Spotlight: Ashley Zwar

Renaissance woman comes to mind when considering this week’s MOPS Mom Spotlight. Ashley Zwar is a wife, mom of two (Crosby 3, Presley 6 months), business owner, former designer at an architectural firm, and aspiring skateboarder. These days, she splits her time between being a family gal and her screen printing business, Love Bug Kiddos. Love Bug Kiddos delivers the freshest graphic tees for babies, kids and mamas. Ashley started her business when Crosby was just a baby as a way to express her creative side and the inspiration she found from her natural surroundings and new role as a mom. Finding the balance between her passions is a constant struggle. But balance doesn’t necessarily mean equal parts, but rather the breakdown that allows you to live your best life doing the things that fill you up so you can be your best in the roles that you play.

Ashley comes to San Clemente by way of the Midwest. She and her husband moved here 10 years ago from Indiana when her husband’s job transferred him. They have made a home here, and almost always prefer sunny days and warm sand, except in the fall. When our moderate weather heats up come October, Ashley finds herself longing for a crisp breeze, wearing boots because you actually need them, and the fiery colors that paint the sky when the leaves turn rather than “just another beautiful San Clemente sunset”.

Ashley and her husband are DIY’ers and spend their time working on projects around their home. They’re both creative and handy. In fact, if Ashley found herself stranded on an island, she would hope her husband was there too. Less for the romance of it, and more the function and increased chance of survival. In addition to being creative and handy, Ashley elevates her husband’s talents to “inventor and tinkerer”. Don’t be mistaken, they have their share of romance and count an anniversary trip to France and Italy as a favorite memory. They experienced the romance of France, and the culinary delights of Italy. Love is food, right?
